Places to Visit
Places to Visit in and around Robertsbridge –Whether you are a local or a visitor to Robertsbridge there is so much for you to see.In Robertsbridge itself, there is a wealth of attractive buildings, dating from the 13th century – still in use as houses or functioning business.
Take a look outside and inside, for example, at two of our public houses, the Seven Stars, a fantastic example of a Wealden Hall, of which there are many others in the High Street, or the George, a fine Georgian building, at the south end of the High Street.
There are interesting churches: St Mary’s, the Parish Church in Salehurst, the remains of a Cistercian Abbey in Redlands Lane which is now in private ownership, and the United Reformed Church, a fine late Victorian building which was featured in the film Cold Comfort Farm a few years ago, as were a number of local Robertsbridge people!
