Outdoor Activities
Outdoor Activities in and around Robertsbridge – Robertsbridge boasts a cricket club with several successful teams – well it has to, since Robertsbridge is the home to some of the finest cricket bats in the world, courtesy of Gray Nicholls. It also has two football clubs; both the Cricket and Football Grounds are on the Clappers. There are lots of footpaths for walking around the village, and a key aim of REG is to create a cycle and bridle path from Robertsbridge to Bodiam Castle. We think this will be a wonderful tourism boon, enabling people to arrive by train with their bikes at Robertsbridge Station, cycle to Bodiam Castle, and experience a healthy day out in our beautiful surroundings.
A number of outdoor activities are organised each year by Robertsbridge Summer Events Group – please see their website www.robertsbridgesummerevent.co.uk and our own calendar on this website.
!!! 2012 sees the Robertsbridge "Jubilympics" 4th June 2012 !!! See the website for more details.
On the first Friday in December, our High Street is closed in the evening for Christmas Capers, a celebration of fun, music, entertainment and shopping, courtesy of Robertsbridge Arts Partnership. But the biggest outdoor event of all, the one that completely takes over the village and fills it with thousands of people, is the Bonfire. Held on the third Saturday in November, it closes the Sussex bonfire season with a real bang – see the website at www.robertsbridgebonfiresociety.com.
